High school students bake bread
先日ホームページにアップした「高等部全員でパン作り」を英語で書いてみました。
On the afternoon of September 17th, Tuesday, we had a special class. We all had a bread making experience.
One guest teacher Ms. Osugi Maya came, and she taught us the basics of bread baking. I spent the 2nd period preparing for baking. I put the ingredients into a bread baking machine letting the dough rise.
During the 5th period all the high school students worked together. We made anpan and chocolate bread. When I saw the dough, it was round and puffy. I touched it, and it was glutinous. I found out this is what fermentation is all about.
Maya sensei demonstrated bread baking, and taught us more about fermentation.
It was difficult to wrap the bean paste and chocolate because of the holes of the dough and overflow. We put bread dough in the oven and baked.
The bread turned into a golden brown. It was small and cute !
The bread I made myself tasted so good!
